We can support from anywhere in Spain including its many islands. We have an excellent relationship with our local (English speaking) provider in Spain who we have worked with for many years and are able to provide funeral and body repatriation services from anywhere in Spain back home.
In the past we have managed the repatriation of a famous American jazz musician from Spain to the USA, as well as a high profile repatriation of remains from Nepal to Spain. We regularly meet with our colleagues in Spain, attending the country regularly to work with our spanish providers as well as meeting with our clients based in Spain.
How Repatriation of Remains from Spain works
Homeland International provides everything required for the repatriation of your loved one from Spain. Typically, a repatriation usually takes between 5 to 7 days however in certain situations, such as if a coroner or the police are involved, this may extend the time frame slightly. Once in our care, our team will care for the person who has died, complete the embalming which is required for repatriation and prepare the coffin for international transportation back home.
It is very important for repatriation from Spain that we act quickly. Even without instruction from the family, local funeral homes with hospital contracts can release the body and it can then become expensive for us to intervene. Due to this, please let us know as soon as possible, within a couple of hours if possible, if you would like our assistance with repatriation.
